So, I figure, the iChurch.com online dating billing scam has been stopped, right? Nope. It’s still live. See for yourself:

My take: Affiliates have gone crazy with Facebook. Facebook ads let you supply an image with your ad, along with text. This setup is not typical for advertisers, so dating site affiliate programs do not have drop-in code for affiliates to use for Facebook (the format doesn’t allow for this). Thus, you have affiliates using their own creative and their own text. This is where things get out of hand. You’ll have smutty photos plugging all types of dating sites – including niches for which it makes no sense. Affiliates don’t care, they just want to make money. The smuttier the image, the higher the click-through rate (likely). Thing is, they are destroying online dating brands in the mean time. How many online dating brands disallow affiliates to use Facebook? There should be more, because what is going on is out of control and destroying brands.

Survive Valentine’s Day:

• celebrate with your single friends;
• girls night out: celebrate where couples likely aren’t going to gather (karaoke, dive bars, etc.);
• girls night in: mix drinks and rent light-hearted movies.

Get Out There:

• try speed dating — be open minded;
• try online dating — post a lot of pictures, be honest, use spell check;
• shy guys: try hypnotism to relax yourself

Do’s and Don’ts on a Date:

• don’t complain or be negative;
• women should yield a bit and not try to take control;
• don’t talk about money or salaries;
• don’t be too serious in terms of ‘looking for a relationship’;
• keep it light!.
