» Ashley Madison Ads on TTC Streetcars
Ashley Madison, the ‘life is short, have an affair’ dating site, has, once again, got a bunch of mainstream press from releasing a press release. Not too long ago, they released a statement that they would pay Tiger Woods for some ‘adulterous’ endorsements. Now they released a statement saying they had successfully purchased advertising on TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) streetcars. The ads have not yet been approved by the TTC, as of this posting. Ashley Madison claims they had been. Of course, that ‘thinking’ was just done to enable them to send out a press release, which sure enough landed them on the front page of the National Post today. Marriage groups got in on the fray and everything. As much as I loathe the idea behind their site (facilitating adultery), they sure are PR geniuses. Granted, however, their site is so controversial it isn’t overly hard to get people talking. That said, they do know when to jump on topics and get mentions. Don’t expect to see them on TTC streetcars anytime soon.
