» Cute Indian Girl Gets Her Indian Guy

A tale from the Toronto dating world. Not online, however: offline. The cute Indian girl who I have this on-and-off attraction to (though I’ve been leaning well into the ‘off’ category lately – which, really, is a good thing – at least for now) has been matched up with an Indian guy via a family matching. They had the same Toronto-area Indian upbringing and share the same cultural values. Sounds like a slam dunk, right? Could be.

Cute Indian girl tells me this, ‘me’ being someone (yes, non-Indian) who she has had a interesting relationship with over the past couple of years. Basically, the connection is definitely noticeable between us, however many of the other things (that ‘Indian guy’ has, as described above) don’t fall into place in our case.

I’ve been really digging into things like signs of attraction and such lately and thus I look for them now. So, today, both before and after Indian girl told me that she’d met ‘Indian guy’, the attraction signals were there. Actually, more so after she told me. Does this mean that I became that much more attractive by taking the ‘news’ well? Possible, I guess. I’m finding it all very interesting. She’s not usually a very physically touchy person however she was today.

One more thing: during our discussion (you know, I’m asking where she met him, etc, etc), she, more than once did the shoulder shrug. Another sign, I’m guessing. The shrug described as a “universal sign of resignation, uncertainty, and submissiveness“, adding “shrug cues may modify, counteract, or contradict verbal remarks” – i.e. “I’m not so sure.”

In all honesty, though, she’s a great girl (yeah, a few things bug me, but…) and if she’s happy and he treats her well then that’s fantastic. There’s much more ‘pre-story’ to this tale which won’t be divulged this round. We’ll see. If you have thoughts on the above (signs of attraction increased?) please comment below.

I think I’m going to go and update my OkCupid profile sometime soon (easily the most innovate dating site out there today – by far). Stay tuned.
